Community Service and Out-reach Programmes
Education is not just study and marks, it is the community they live in that they have to change if they aspire to add value to it. It is teaching children to give their best to the society.
Children are encouraged to actively participate in Medical Camps and Volunteering for bringing awareness on ‘no plastic’, Swatch Bharat, and Open DeFecation projects of the government, besides planting saplings on events. Once every fortnight, a Teach-the-Parent campaign is being done in the 22 villages around the school.
Promised Land Educational Trust (PLET)
“Never does land mean clay and sand, the people, the people, they are the Land” (This is an excellent translation of a poem by a famous Indian Telugu Romantic Poet Sri. Gurajada Apparao by another Indian Revolutionary Poet Srirangam Srinivasa Rao; fondly called Sri Sri.)
The people are important! “Where there is no vision, the people perish” Prov.29:18.
This Promised Land Educational Trust was born from a vision for the people; located in Visakhapatnam district, close on the Highway between Anakapalli and Yelamanchili.
Illiteracy, ill-health and the bleak living conditions of people around this place has made the founders think of serving this area by providing quality education, health, and employment generating skill-training.
As a part of it they established the King’s Ideal School in the year 2010. It has since been educating the underprivileged children, providing them uniform, books, free education, scholarship and sometimes free transport facility.
PLET has been aiding the lepers, and the poor suffering from major health problems. PLET understands that enough is never. It has been extending help and services along with education to a vast triangular area connecting the towns Anakapalli —Narsipatnam—Elamanchili reaching out people in 26 villages.
PLET is planning to build to a new facility for the school and a state-of-the-art hostel to serve even more students from the neighbouring states as well.
