King’s Ideal School: An inclusive Glocal (global + local) school working to touch and transform the lives of generations of children, and through them their families.
“Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high…..Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls……Into that heaven of freedom my father let my country awake” Rabindranath Tagore’s wrote in his Gitanjali which won the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Why should a student go to school? Why should he/she learn subject or topic? If the topic doesn’t connect the student to his/her life, is not the learning passive, marks oriented, and infertile? Is not the life of a student bracketed like the answers in his book to score in the exams.
KIS has been envisioned to be a space for learning to become responsible world citizens. We are not looking at making models but we are nurturing our students to become role-models who may, over a period of time, become a celebrity by what they do. For this the school has committed to do rigorous home work to identify the strengths, skill, and talents of every student and nurture him/her to further his/her excellence. We have been working to strengthen our students in basics, with Socratic Dialogue and Design Thinking so that they may one day become leaders in their own field.
Marks can never measure the abilities of a person for the scales used are wrong. Therefore we focus on making the student think critically and solve day to day problems creatively from he studies. All our efforts are to make text book come to life.
The school is recognized by the Government and students can apply for either S.S.C or CBSE board exams as per their choice.
Admission is done through an inclusive test and informal interview to understand the concerns and challenges of students and parents as well.
